American Sign Language is a way for nonverbal individuals to communicate to a typical individual. Many individuals who are Deaf use ASL when communicating. It makes it easier to explain sadness, happiness, and ask questions. Typical individuals are able to read in-between the lines when having a conversation. When an individual is upset it is sometimes easy to identify if they are sad. Maybe a change in confidence in their voice, or even watery eyes. We naturally do it as humans. I was able to find some articles on communication behind words; the conversation of detecting emotions. To help aid an answer for my driving question of, How do gestures help with nonverbal communication?
